Psychological suffering is the defining epidemic of the XXI century,—affecting all age groups, but especially Millennials and the forthcoming generations. It is these generations who are, or will be, inevitably confronting the world and a reality that will reveal their psychological inadequacies, if any exist, in due time. Some of the symptoms of these psychological shortcomings are: intense and uncontrolled emotions, erratic and addictive behavior, and the inability to create long-lasting emotional bonds with other people, especially with a romantic partner.
It is precisely in those romantic relationships, or in the lack of one, in which the full array of deficiencies will make a strong appearance, sometimes in a drastic form. This situation is unfortunate, but it also presents a valuable opportunity to self-reflect and deal with the root causes of so many symptoms. It may not be absolutely evident, but the root cause of a persistent inadequacy in love matters, the presence of unexplainable emotions, and the engagement in self-sabotaging behavior may very well lay in the psychological wound left by a person’s family past.
This 69-page book deals with a very specific problem: the problem of breaking away from dysfunctional family and generational patterns, and of removing or alleviating any form of mental suffering whose genesis lies in a person’s unconscious, irrational, and painful family past.
The process outlined in this book is based on a method I myself underwent, after a moment in my life of so much mental suffering. This process helped me overcome a decade-long struggle with depression and dysfunctional attractions, but also paved the way for me to attract and foster a healthy relationship that led to marriage. Through disciplined introspection and a methodology that I have called Analytical Work, I gained lasting psychological healing and the clarity to pursue genuine, healthy love.
I have decided to write this book with an academic tone, conforming to the rules of intellectual rigor while leaving aside most of my personal facts that initially motivated my writing (for more on my personal healing experience, read it here).
